TESTIMONIAL:
I became a somewhat regular visitor of the Visgraf Lab from 2009 to 2013. This period certainly overlapped with my most productive and fun years as a researcher. My collaboration with Luiz Velho, head of the lab, during that period could not have been better. We wrote papers, co-organized scientific events, and presented tutorials together. From a personal point of view, the Visgraf Lab has a special place in my heart. However, in my opinion, the importance of the lab for the entire graphics community of our country is what should be stressed here. During the last 30 years, the leading researchers of the Visgraf Lab and their students produced a high-quality body of work, with almost no parallel in the country. More importantly, they always found the time to also share their work and knowledge with the Brazilian graphics community. This can be seen by the amount of books co-authored by them in Portuguese, and by their constant presence in tutorials of our main graphics conference, SIBGRAPI. So, it is hard to assess the influence that the work and people from the Visgraf Lab had in all of us. As a research community, we have a large debt with them. Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Visgraf Lab is also the celebration of part of our own graphics history. Happy Anniversary, Visgraf Lab.
